Meet Captain Keith--knowledgeable,

pleasant, responsible, and professional,

he will put you on fish or give you a great eco tour!

Captain Keith Kalbfleisch

Captain Keith has been fishing in Florida for over 30 years, with over 15 years concentrating on the Central Florida East Coast near Orlando.  He has fishing experience around the world from Blue Marlin in deep water to Redfish on the flats.  He is the perfect example of "Mastery comes from Experience".

He captains The MTC ("The Empty Sea"), a top-quality Action Craft Flats skiff for inshore, and the awesome Mako 2201 for nearshore and offshore (see more about The MTC In "The Boats" page).

Well-known in the area, he has won a number of awards and has been featured in fishing shows such as American Angler and Bass Pro Shops spots.  He is also often featured on local fishing radio shows.  In addition, Captain Keith is often in articles, being featured in Coastal Angler Magazine, Florida Sportsman Magazine, Sport Fishing Magazine and local publications.  As a local expert on fishing and the marine environment, he is often asked to speak to fishing clubs and outdoor sporting  events, and is popular for eco tours

Latest big news is that the International Game Fish Association, the organization that keeps the world records and promotes sport fishing around the world, has recognized Captain Keith in their "Captain's Corner"--a distinction that only six captains receive worldwide each year!  See the article on the "Articles" page!

Captain Keith is an expert at finding fish inshore on the flats and along the Atlantic shorelines, specializing in light-tackle experiences on spinning and fly tackle.  As a lifetime member of the Federation of Fly Fishers, an Internationally Certified Casting Instructor, and with over 30 years of fly fishing and tying flies, he can handle the most discriminating angler.  He is a full-time saltwater guide--not a part-timer, or a bass guide trying to do double duty.  Since this is such a challenging type of fishing, this allows him to know the local fish and give you your best chance of hooking that monster!

Not only can Captain Keith handle the challenges of the expert angler challenging these fish with a fly, but he is one of the best at getting inexperienced anglers on big fish.

Captain Keith is an IGFA Certified Captain, he is the National Saltwater Pro Staff Captain for Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, on the Mako state fishing team, and National Pro for Daiichi Hooks, and X-Point Hooks. In Addition, he is an Action Craft featured guide, a Calusa Nets Captain, a Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Captain and life member, and is proud to serve on the boards of some prestigious fishing Organizations including President of Central Florida Offshore Anglers, Vice President of the Indian River Guides Association, and the Central East Region Director for the Florida Guides Association.  These are all indications of his excellent qualifications.   Captain Keith has special licenses and permits to fish the area--an important consideration when choosing a captain.  See his Official Documents.

Captain Keith is very conservation-minded, and supports catch-and-release fishing whenever it is possible, understanding that we want these fabulous game fish for long into the future.  You will find Captain Keith fun, informative, and totally competent.

Member of International Game Fish Association (IGFA), Florida Guides Association, Indian River Guides Association, Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF), Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA), Coastal Conservation Association (CCA), National Association of Charter Operators, and Central Florida Offshore Anglers (CFOA)
